I'm an athletic trainer and work with professional athletes.

From Military Active Duty to Sports Medicine
After high school, I served in the navy for 5 years in active duty and  worked as a medic. I was continually drawn to sports medicine. So, when I left active duty, I put all my eggs in one basket. Five years later, I became a certified athletic trainer working in professional sports.

Preventive Injury Management

A lot of what I do is safety management. As a trainer, you're always trying to prevent injuries as much as you can before they happen. Risk management is a huge part of athletic training. I help athletes strive to be the best they can without having these impairments happen.

Posture is Confidence Boosting

Your spine is holding your whole body up. Not only is it physically holding your body up, but in my opinion, the energy you get from being in that optimal position brings more confidence to whatever you’re doing.

If you have good posture as a solid foundation, everything else becomes easier.

And if you don’t have good posture, you can develop it. It’s not impossible. But it takes some work to get there. So having something to help reinforce that is ideal.

Poor Movement Patterns Can Start at a Young Age

Athletes go into sports at a young age. You’re still growing and you’re figuring out how to move. Your body is just trying to get from point A to point B in the most efficient way it knows how, which may not be the best way. You go through high school and you may develop these movement patterns. Maybe they don’t have the knowledge to fix these issues.  

You get to college, and you don’t want to mess with your form because what if it affects your performance? 

You get these great athletes, and some of them have impaired movement patterns and posture. As a coach or trainer, you’re thinking about the longevity of their career. We have to address their movement patterns. Once you build a solid foundation, you can do impressive things as an athlete because it's easier.

Final Word: Comfort is Paramount 

No matter what size you are, comfort is huge, and you don’t want to feel like you're wearing a bra. You want to forget that it’s there.
